On June 2-5, 2021, the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum took place, that is a global event in the economy and business world. At the Forum, Russian and international members of the business community annually discuss important economic issues affecting Russia, emerging markets and the world in general.
The international event was held at the St. Petersburg ExpoForum exhibition centre. The central theme of the SPIEF 2021 was “A Collective Reckoning of the New Global Economic Reality”. Over 10,000 participants took part at the Forum. Among them, the WR Group was represented.
The issues of active development in the post-crisis period and cooperation on the international markets are especially relevant for the global holding WR Group. The company used the crisis as a chance, opened a new business division, and the total annual turnover of the holding quadrupled. Wadim Rosenstein, the CEO of the WR Group Holding, was prompted to actively participate in the SPIEF 2021 by the desire to share his own experience, as well as the search for solutions and answers to pressing questions.
The organizers of the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, in turn, had granted WR Group a unique status as a partner of the SPIEF Junior Forum.
SPIEF Junior is one of the special sections of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The section aims to initiate an intergenerational dialogue on current issues.
On June 4th, a panel discussion “Live and learn: educational trajectories of young professionals and skills of the future” was held within the framework of the SPIEF Junior. Wadim Rosenstein was invited to it as one of the speakers. The panel discussion focused on a range of issues, which are of concern to contemporaries, and especially young people: from the current business community demands on modern education to assessing the skills required in the future.
The speakers at the panel discussion – both young leaders and veterans in their profession – were happy to share their experiences and answer questions from the young audience. Wadim Rosenstein, as a graduate of a Swiss business school and a successful owner and head of an international company, gave insights into the requirements of modern business. He also shared his perspectives on how to build a sustainable business career and explained what he expects from his future employees.
“I think this is a great format, that allows students to meet global leaders and experts and exchange ideas with them” – Wadim Rosenstein said. “I am deeply convinced that we need to actively continue working with youth at the educational and business levels.”
WR Group plans to constantly support the initiative of the Content Foundation, the organizer of the Forum for young engines of progress. Supporting and developing young talents is of great value for the group of companies. This applies both to its own employees and to representatives of the new generation in general. Indeed, students are always welcome at WR Group.
